About Sky's Dog Walking

Growing up as a teenager can already be complicated, but I developed diabetes when I was 14, which made life feel even heavier. Managing blood sugar, dealing with doctors, routines, and the worry that comes with it can change daily life in ways that many people around you might not fully understand. In the middle of that, having Sky with me meant a lot.

My beautiful dog, Sky - sensitive and loyal - became more than just a pet to me. She became a kind of quiet support during a time when things were difficult or uncertain. Dogs don’t ask questions about illnesses, and they don’t judge the bad days. They just stay close.

When I was going through the challenges of diabetes as a teenager, Sky being there gave me something steady. She sat beside me when I wasn’t feeling well, followed me around the house and kept me company during moments when things felt overwhelming. Sensitive dogs often notice when something isn’t right with their person. Even without understanding the illness, they respond to the emotions around it.

For many people dealing with a chronic condition, a dog becomes part of their emotional routine - a reason to get outside for a walk, someone to talk to when things feel frustrating, or just a comforting presence during quiet moments. Sky being there through those years meant she wasn’t just watching me grow up; she was growing through that experience with me.

There’s something powerful about that kind of companionship. During teenage years, when identity, health, and independence are all shifting, a loyal dog offers something simple and constant: I’m here with you.

Sky didn’t know the word “diabetes”, but she knew me - my voice, my moods, my presence. And for a loyal dog, that was enough of a reason to stay by my side.

Dogs that stand with us during the hardest periods of life and often become some of our deepest memories. Sky wasn’t just part of my childhood; she was part of the strength it took to get through those teenage years.

That is why I have decided to dedicate my company name to the best friend a teenager could have ever asked for, Sky.
